Our challenge

Wikth over 10,000 retail staff across the USA, Samsung briefed us to create a new way to communicate key product and sales information about upcoming devices. Traditionally printed flyers, lanyards and other pieces of merchandise had been used without great success.

Our Approach

How we drove engagement

Working in partnership with Samsung, we created 'Buddy'. A branded character who appeared physically as part of a kit sent out to retail staff. On opening the box and following the instructions to 'Scan Buddy', viewers unlocked a playful set of animated scenes, presented in Augmented Reality.

Results

How we transformed behaviour

The AR scenes allowed us to bring products, services and marketing messages to life in new and exciting ways. With the content hosted on our servers, we were able to refresh at any point during the project live cycle, without the need for additional mailers. Feedback from users showed Buddy as a huge success and popular throughout the retail network.
